Chip Legett

Thank you for visiting my site!

If you're looking for information about Chip or Carey Legett, you're in the right spot. My legal name is Carey, and therefore all official sources will list me as such, but I go by "Chip."

Until recently, I was a PhD candidate working under Prof. Timothy Glotch in Stony Brook University's Department of Geosciences. My primary research interests include the spectroscopy and remote sensing of the surfaces of planetary bodies. More specifically, my PhD research was focused on understanding the optical effects of space weathering in the visible and near infrared.

I am a member of the SuperCam instrument team and the Perseverance rover science team as a postdoc at Los Alamos National Laboratory working with Dr. Roger Wiens.
